Himalayan Friendship Society- Nepal (HIFSO), in Nepali language- हिमाली मैत्री समाज नेपाल, was established in 2000 AD, is a non-profit, non-governmental and non-political organization. We are committed to the holistic development efforts in Nepal’s Himalayan region. The organization’s work includes development, counselling, research, advocacy, and rights-based solutions with a focus on agriculture, culture, tourism, environment, ecosystem, education, and economic development. HIFSO-Nepal strongly emphasis on preserving cultural heritage, advocating for the rights of Indigenous people and their practices, addressing environmental concerns, and recognizing the heightened impact of climate change in Himalayan region of Nepal. The organization operates with an inclusive approach, collaborating with women, youths, experts, researchers, government bodies, Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities (IPLCs), and customary governance institutions to create meaningful, impactful and sustainable initiatives for the betterment of the Himalayan regio
